find x

i chuckled (n not laughed ok) at this the first time. hahah. what a cool joke dude.

alors d'accord, i have this one med-joke to share ( yep cheri, this is one example of the 'A'-ducated type of joke) - told by Dr Ang during ward round upon encounter with a CVD?diabetes?(cant rmmber) patient with associated pshycological problem.

how physicians, surgeons and psychiatrists different from one another :

a physiacian = knows everything , does nothing
a surgeon = knows nothing, does everything
a psychiatrist= knows nothing, does Nothing!!

hahaha - if i didnt know better , i would have opted to be a psychiatrist :D:D
but seriously i see myself more as a physician (tp seme bende blur, tak tau gk huhuh). surgery isnt really my forte i would say. and im not really into it. added with my unskillfulness ( chances of this statement to be true is potentially high, though i ve never tried any surgical/incisional procedure so far) , it simply doest seem like a right profession pour moi.

another win, another day.. the same way

you know. when liverpool goes final, it is meant to be classically dramatic. they aren't the best team in term of physical talents and tactic, but they do have one hell of brilliant team spirit. gerrard is legendary. and yes, he deserves the cup more than anyone else does!! when all hopes were seemingly gone, he still had the magical courage to fire the ball into the net with his half-cramp limping leg! just in time to drag the game into the extra time as well as diminishing the hammers's dream to lift their first ever FA cup trophy, which was just minutes away to be realised. Perhaps we may after all call these sort of finals as the 'liverpool phenomenon'. i guess, whenever we see matches with such classical comeback in the future, we may actually exclaim sumthing like ; "hey, they are doing Liverpool!"

hihihih.. KOP, im soo proud to be your fan heheh

click here / clique ici to visit my blog entry on the 'Deja vu' of this match , then you'll know what im talking about.

never alone

Sometimes,
when the world's not on your side

You don't know where to run to
You don't know where to hide.

You gaze, at the stars in the sky
At the mountains so high
Through the tears in your eyes.

Looking for a reason,
to replace what is gone.
Just remember, remember
That you are never alone.

Just reach into your heart
And Allah is always there.
Through sorrow and through grief
Through happiness and peace
You are never alone.

So now as you long for your past
Prepare for your future
But knowing nothings going to last
You see this life is but a road
A straight and narrow path
To our final abode

So travel well O Muslim
And Paradise will be your home
And always remember...

That you are never alone.

DPs go Pinkie

I
had the opportunity to attend a very fairytale princess-ish bday bash last sunday. pinky theme (just like you my bubbly blog-bliss) and soo ceria one.especially for the kids la. the celebrated 'princess' that day just turned 4. she's sooo cute with long hair n chubby cheeks, she seems to inherit her mom's beauty as well. but too early to comment on that i would say. anyway, i guess the best gift for her ( surpassing all those piles of presents on the alocated table/ tables??) would be the gift of a super-sporting and extraodinary mum =) her mum's practically a kid herself that day:D. having said that, i'm not in anyway wishing (nor would i ever wish )for another mum other than mine. seeing all those things just make me love and appreciate mine even more. perhaps, she couldn't afford to shower me with the lavish lifestyle, but i guess it is because of 'without all these things' that nurturing me to become who i am today . MUM, MISS YOU ALREADY =( HOMESICK!

bile da g mnde ni, all of sudden teringat kt seme princess2 disney.. i've mentioned in the previous entry that my fav disney princess was Snow White ( and still is! ) . she's soo comel !!.second would be Sleeping beauty, then belle and then (finally) Cinderella.okay. need to refurbish my half-heartedly done tutorial .. au revoir Princess and Happy Birthday.

## DP = disney princess ;-)

don't play play

yesterday, while i was wandering semi-idly in the ward im currently assigned to, i saw this very pretty young girl occupying one of the beds there. my first thought was, 'lawanye die ni' n 'she cant be more than 20'. she looked distressed though. i also happened to hear a nurse consoling her who apparently was crying, while clerking a patient next to her bed. i cant help wondering what 'disease' a person so young like her, could have(it 's relatively uncommon actually)

And so today, while following the H.O (housemen officers) ward round, i stopped at her bed to see her medical record. kinda curious to know. and what i learnt then was least expected!

she had some sort of paracetamol overdose/or (a nicer thought would be) paracetamol allergy<>. the record stated that she'd taken 20 tablets of PCM!! she most probably was attempting suicide.why??

huhuh.. that's the most shocking(interesting??) part.. She's 15 and she's pregnant.
the record said that she admitted of having episodes of intercourses with a 20 year old boyfriend these last few months. she might be a rape victim too,but perhaps too shy/afraid to tell.still ,im inclined to believe the earlier claim. upon questioning , she claimed she didnt know that she was pregnant when she took the PCM. quite fishy heh? im sure she knows la. otherwise , why would she want to commit suicide?

soo sayang. she definitely cant finish school. the boyfriend must be either on the run or in any lock-ups (she's under age for God sake). imagine the stigmata she'd have to endure from now on. luckily she got the look la. but i doubt that would help much. so children, finish school first b4 indulging yourselves in the LOVe-fantillusion. you're too young to even think of the consequences.

tamat la cerite budak pompuan lawa yang malang..

double combo

"My Videos have been viewed 12073 times" ( youtube)

wuhuu it reaches 12ooo already hehe.. Never thought they would .. really.

Football:Both my fav teams performed incredibly last night. felicitation a tout. both Liverpool and AS Nancy Lorraine won crucial matches. English FA cup semi final n French League Cup Final respectively. Ironically, with same results - 2-1 wins - huhu. Liverpool gunned down Grumpy Morinho's Chelsea while Nancy took on Nice of Provence. Cheri went to see the Nancy against Nice match at Place Stanislas with friends. They set up this one big screen there broadcasting the match from Stade de France. cayala Nancy!! cant wait to c u in UEFA cup next season. it really something for them you know. i mean, it wasnt really part of their mission at all to bring back the cup. Their main aim this season is to avoid relegation( which is already accomplished). they weren't in the league 1 last season n suddenly came with such a loud 'boom' in the french football scene. though this cup is some sort of English Carling/wortington(worthless??) cup equivalent, which is almost always won by the underdogs, it's still very much acknowledged by UEFA. and in the end, who's got the place to play in Europe? C'est NANCY sur bien!!;-)

john anne risse opens the scoring for liverpool

As for Liverpool, it's almost a sure thing that they would bring back the FA cup this season. hurrahhh!!

ok ok tutorial time my dear.

heart your heart, love your lung

so .. this is my fourth week (officially) doing clinical rotation in the wards (every weekdays morning). Am currently assigned to respiratory ward(+ tb ward). Well, have to say i learn incredibly a lot from here. never thought heart murmurs sound like they actually do ( i used to think they were some sort of dup-dup sounds, but they turn out to sound like a whooshing wind).

Am also beginning to interpret chest radiography now.. piles of Tb cases i tell you. And half of the guys in the resp. ward are under paliative therapy due to late-stage lung cancer. If you go clarking these patients you'll definitely find in your history taking that they were ex-smokers. ex- HEAVY-smokers. 5-year survival rate is quite low for these guys. coz most lung cancers aren't diagnosed until they're too late. and by the time you found out, there's nothing much you can do about it. only supportive + pain killing treatments. In other (aggressive??) words, you can only wait for them to die... smoking is a killer. really it is.

from 'president' to 'student'?

Irish college 'to welcome' Sheen

Sheen says he wants to finish his education after retiring
An Irish university has said it was "looking forward to welcoming" Hollywood actor Martin Sheen as a student next autumn.

The West Wing star plans to study English literature, philosophy and theology with special interest in oceanography in Galway.

A spokeswoman for the National University of Ireland said: "We are developing that interest with him."

Sheen has said he wanted to finish his education after he retires from acting.

The university is home to the Huston School of film and digital media here, of which Angelica Huston is a patron.

Sheen, who is 65, said he had been awarded several degrees, but had received no "proper education" since starting acting.

He has played President Josiah Bartlet in The West Wing since 1999.

His big screen roles have included Apocalypse Now and Gandhi.

the birth of the prophet

Happy Birthday my dear Prophet of God :-)

u know what surprised me the most today? it's this one rtm tv programme. a biography. it's not about those reknown politicians of the ruling party we normally - expect to?? -see. It was other wise. the Biography was of Tuan guru Hj Yaakob (Yaakob Gajah mati i think, his nickname). and they even interviewed Nik Aziz !!! ( who happenned to be one of Allahyarham's anak murid) . and yes, this guy is (in my opinion) very much like Tuan Guru Nik Aziz. As a matter of fact, one of Allahyarham's sons was the one who translated As-syahid sy Kutub's Fi zilalul Quran to Malay!!

i guess i am quite overwhelmed to see all these. Not because of my political stance, but because i now apparently begin to see some balance ( at least some efforts towards that) in our society's poilitical situation. the Debat Perdana thing is really good. way to go Dollah.

Oh by the way, despite my suggestive comments, i d like to point out that, as for now i dont belong to any party. i simply despise the aotocratic democracy that is (or used to be HEAVILY) applied to our political system. Look at France for instance, the prime minister doesnt necessarilly have to be from the same party as the president ( im not sure wether monsieur Villepin n Chirac are from different parties though. but i am dead sure that, villepin's rival, the stinky Sarkozy is from the extreme right wing) . And these are all done to make sure that the the ruling government doent have the 'ultimate' or 'excessive' power, which invariably will overide the people's voice.

Therefore let's walk hand in hand towards a better Malaysia :)

lovely lace

finally.. it's been a while since i last entered Lovely Lace ( one of my all time favourite store). Dublin hasn't got one. Laura Ashley does have something quite similar, but L.A is a bit too lavish for me. so L.L can be considered something affordable (really so??). if only i could have my room decorated with all those stuff.. i would not leave it even for a sec!! oh it d be so heaven-like..

if all those were mine , id feel like a princess in one of those fairy tale. with all those delicately hand-made laces, embroideries, creamy-maroon flowers, laced laudry basket etc.. oowwhh

i am also thinking of buying Lovely lace stuff bit by bit.. so that when the time comes, i wouldnt feel soo excessively habis duit heheh. i bough this one L.L box once. i hope it wd still be somewhere traceable...

my Little Loughborough

Ashby Road

since the first time i set my feet in Dublin, i had always been secretly hoping that i could go to loughborough before i left. But God hadnt granted me the oppurtunity until my last week in Europe. And yes, i am so very grateful of His unconditional kindness towards me. Thank you God:)
mum's university

This place - though not major - is very essential to be recorded in my life history. i had no recollections of my days here 21 years ago, and yet it remains very.. 'sentimental' i shd say. there were times when i tried to virtually visualise how the town would look like (based on my mum story and through a few collections of 'ancient' photos) . it was never the same in reality, though i must say my self-designed picture of loughborough hadnt gone adversely astray than how it really looks like in general.

well, thanx mom for bringing me there:-) and for bringing along the other two persons whose presence in life i care about more than my own. i couldnt be more happier to be in loughborough with the 3 persons i love the most in the whole world!!

transitional period

Voila!! as requested , n as been anticipated (;p;p) .. im writing again! im sorry i am very busy at the moment. it's a totally new life for me.. firstly i ve never been too far away from home domestically.. secondly, im practically looking for my ownself myself. and thirdly, i have to study every bit of the next day's tutorials before hand or else i'll be scolded like a darjah 1 pupil. erkhh.. life's challenging. but so far im quite satisfied with my situation now. busy indeed, but well, independence is fun actually.

i dont know how to put it, but my life in Ireland compared to in Penang was - in a way - very distinctly different. i'm missing a lot of things i've had while in Dublin, but at the same time im also enjoying things over here that i would never have had there.

oh by the way, the song that's currently playing is my favourite irish traditional song.been oblivious to it (or had i taken it for granted??) though had heard of the song since my first month there.but then suddenly, on my last days in Eire, i became very touched with it when i realised that could possibly be my last time browsing sourvenirs in Carrols , the Irish gifts store that keep playing the song over and over.

well i miss ireland.. i miss Nancy.. et un garcon que j l'aime vraiment ... il est ma vie.

Ireland's Tribute

i'll be leaving Ireland in less than 33 hours.. These past few weeks, had been travelling across Ireland and The UK (et oui, am so hopelessly tired now.but really, it's worth it!!! i was on trip with the best, and my most loved people in the world!! ;);) )
Mon Cheri
came over to Dublin, and we were on a 2-day road trip to west Eire with a (cool and genius) friend of ours;-) so here are the pics of some places that we went to..

Our rented car ..parked in The Burren

The Burren
kubur/ritual chamber zaman neolitik kt The Burren area

The 'Magnificique' Cliffs of Moher ( >200 metres in height)

O'Brien Tower @ the Cliffs. Used to be a view point for tourists back in 19th/20th century.

O'brien tower lagi

Adare Village of county Limerick.
Was regarded as Ireland's most beautiful village. There were a few rows of thatched-roof houses which are still preserved and mostly still being pivately owned. susah nk cari rumah camni these days. watched travel programme about Ireland a few months ago, and the pakcik in the programme said there were less than ten houses like this in Ireland now..

Fierté et Préjudice

at
long last!! i ve got my own copy(-ies) of my favourite mini-tele series ; BBC's Pride and Prejudice!!!! wuhuuu. and it is the anniversary edition!!! double wuhuuu!!! my long wait proven to be worth while.. i've been tempted to buy the double DVD's series since my first year here, but 'for some uknown reason' P&P had always not been part of the 'sale' items. (what a descrimination toward such award winning masterpiece!!)hence the price had never (b4 this) reached below 40 Euro.
but two days ago, my housemate came back from town with that DVD. i was like, what??? you actually bought th..that?? whoaa im so jealouss!!

then she said it was only 19.95 euro now.. (i went histerical. You re kidding me! where did u buy that? HMV?)
- no, at Golden Disc .P&P is ON SALE now - that blew my mind off. Next morning, went straight to the store and guess what?? Got a student discount some more!!

so i bought my dear Pride and Prejudice at the price of Euro 17.90 .. ohh beshnyee leh tgk Mr Darcy yang charming ala ala m/acho nih hehehe (mais toi - cheri, are even 1000X more charming - dun worry;-) )

Colin Firth definitely fits Mr Darcy Character like a glove.. begitu juga wataknya as Mr Darcy dlm Bridget Jones. oh By the Way, BJ's authour is indeed a big fan of BBC's P&P and its Mr Darcy. So, Mr Darcy in BJ was no coincidence.

the Pride n Prejudice movie version (kiera knightley and that 'nobody' guy) was so erkhh , how should i put it.. crap, perhaps??.. not worth watching la.. copy n paste colin firth/jenifer ehle version habis habisan. well you may say, that's because the script was extracted from the same book (jane austen's Pride and prejudice - love this book), but still come on!! the intonantions, the scenes.. do those things also need to be so strikingly similar with the earlier PnP?

ok, need to finish my box-packing. tomorrow hv to send those boxes to msia hall for shipping. haaii nk balik nye dah.. sedih la plak:(

a plus

Le Roi Soleil

Mon essentiel LIVE - NRJ Music Award

yeyeyeyyey!! ullalalalalala !! enfin! i got the video from the NRJ music award! hehehehe. so excited about it. oookay.. so the winner that nite weren't as i predicted earlier.. but still i'm ok with it. Raphael won the artiste franchophone masculine d l'annee award and best female singer was Jenifer. i said i dont really like raphael in the previous post ..However, having listened to Dans 150 ans (in 150 years - title of raphael's single) quite a number of times now, i think my feeling is starting to antagonise that statement.hehehe. as for jenifer, though i was hoping for celine dion to win it, jenifer was sort of a second choice. my cheri likes her anyway.so it is still very much acceptable. After all , i do like some of her songs ( Serre moi - meaning hug me , and Ma revolution, j'attend l'amour)

d'accord, sebenarnye i wanna write about Le Roi Soleil . ape die? Le Roi Soleil means The Sun King. it was actually nicknamed to king Louis xvi. and teater comedi musical ni pasal die la lebih kurang. this theatre mmg kire 'hot cakes' la klu kat france skang ni. tv sket2 tunjuk geng2 pelakon/penyanyi roi soleil ni (by the way phonaticnye ialah rwa-so-ley), tp y plg glamer di sebabkn teater ni ( selain emmanuel moire la) is the choreographer ; Kamel Ouwali ( arab rasenye mamat ni) . mm actually die ni mmg glamer b4 teatre ni lg,since die ni jugak adela guru tari untuk french star acedemy.this star academy thing is more or less an Akademi Fantasia equivalent, so u see how popular Linda Jasmin is after the programmes, now just put this kamel in the same shoe. get the idea? good.

Emmanuel moire himself played king Louis character. he looked quite funny actually with the make-up. but who cares? i like his songs, i like his voice, n thats all that matters. full stop.
